The **AI Usage** tab on Insights adds up the last 7 days of recorded sessions.

| Card | Shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Est. Cost** | Estimated spend across all models and providers |
| **Sessions** | Number of sessions and how many different people |
| **Tokens** | In and out |
| **Messages** | Total messages |

Two charts show tokens and cost over time. **Top Adopters** ranks people by sessions, tokens, cost, models used, and trend. Use it to find heavy adopters, spot unexpected models, and size AI spend.

## How cost is estimated

Cost is worked out from public list prices per model. It does not know about discounts your company has. It is a guide for comparison, not an invoice.

## The tray shows personal usage too

On each laptop, the Surface tray icon shows the person's own plan usage for Claude and OpenAI accounts signed in there. That is shown on the laptop only and is never sent to the console.
